How do I become a member of the PMO Global Awards Judging Committee?
To apply for a position on the prestigious PMO Global Awards Judging Committee, go to www.pmoga.world/get-involved, locate the engagement opportunity for this volunteer position and apply. To be eligible to apply, you must be a PMOGA member. Applications can be filed at any time of year, but they are only verified, reviewed, and confirmed between April and May of each year. It is critical to consult the above-mentioned website for the most up-to-date volunteer requirements, which may change somewhat each year due to the initiative's ongoing improvement process.
What are the guiding principles for the selection of Judging Committee members?
The selection criteria for any PMOGA engagement opportunity are based on five fundamental principles:
All qualified candidates, without exception, must meet the required technical and experience requirements.
As long as the technical, experience, membership, and geographical diversity requirements are met, all candidates have fair opportunities to participate.
PMOGA Prime and Regular members receive priority in the selection process for any volunteer position at PMOGA that has a greater demand than the availability of openings, as they volunteer and also financially support our organization, which is vital for the continuity of our initiatives.
Membership fees are adapted to the realities of each region, providing everyone access to even the most sought-after participation opportunities. PMOGA Regular membership, for example, is 70% off for members living in Niger, Africa.
Unlike most professional associations, PMOGA continues to provide valuable opportunities and benefits to our Associate Free members, allowing them to participate in all engagement opportunities available in our community.
How are applications qualified for the Judging Committee?
Applications received are qualified as follows:
STEP 1: All applications are reviewed for technical and experience requirements for the volunteer position. Only those who meet the conditions advance to the next stage, and the candidates' applications that don't meet the technical requirements are declined.
STEP 2:Accepted applications are separated into two categories:
(a) Applicants who have already served as judges in previous PMO Global Awards editions. This group is divided into two subgroups:
(a1) Candidates with PMOGA Prime or Regular membership.
(a2) Candidates with PMOGA Associate Free membership.
(b) New candidates with no previous experience in the PMO Global Awards committees. This group is divided into two subgroups:
(b1) Candidates with PMOGA Prime or Regular membership.
(b2) Candidates with PMOGA Associate Free membership.
How are the Judging Committee members selected?
The number of seats on the judging committee must be revised annually because the number of competitors determines it.
The available seats are divided into four regions - Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and The Americas - to ensure geographical diversity on the judging committee,
The selection process is executed in four steps:
STEP 1:If there are enough seats on the Judging Committee, all applicants in subgroups (a1) and (b1) have their applications accepted. If the number of candidates in subgroups (a1) and (b1) exceeds the committee seats, a public draw will be held to determine who will serve on the committee.
STEP 2:Candidates in the subgroups (a2) and (b2) are Associate Free members, so their applications are suspended temporarily, allowing them to upgrade their membership to meet the membership requirements. Those that upgrade as necessary will have their applications accepted since they also meet the technical and experience requirements. If the number of candidates from subgroups (a2) and (b2) that upgraded their memberships exceeds the committee seats, a draw will be held to determine who will serve on the committee.
STEP 3: Candidates in the subgroup (a2) - Candidates with previous experience at the committee and a PMOGA Associate membership who haven't upgraded their memberships are still eligible to participate in a public draw for the remaining seats in the Judging Committees. Because of the high level of interest in this position, there may be few seats available - or even none - to be drawn among the members of this subgroup.
STEP 4: Candidates in the subgroups (b2) - New candidates with a PMOGA Associate membership who haven't upgraded their memberships are still eligible to participate in a public draw for the remaining seats in the Judging Committees. Because of the high level of interest in this position, there may be few seats available - or even none - to be drawn among the members of this subgroup.
